I'd like to interject for a moment to tell you that blank keycaps are superior to printed keycaps, especially if you work on a keyboard for hours, as your job.

Blank keycaps forces you to learn to touchtype, in an 'immersive' way, you can no longer whine about 'not having time' to learn how to type, even though you type everyday, for hours, sometimes with little breaks. Besides, the ones who have time to say they have no time are about as bullshitty as people who are saying they are dying because they got a little sick, if they really were, they wouldn't being saying that. You don’t need a course, a program or a typing test. You just need to remove the training wheels, do it.

Less information means less distracting and as I said, blank keycaps require you to learn how to touchtype, instead of thinking about what key to press, you just press it, and look at the screen to see what is happening, and became able to think about what to type instead. You’re composing and getting work done, not locating. You become 10x more efficient at the cost of a slight inconvience at the beginning, you can learn how to touchtype and be comfortable with it in less than 2 days.

If you require to use other languages with non qwerty layouts (or don't use qwerty in general), your keys will always be correct as it is a blank slate and not something predefined. And with cheaper keycaps, the printing goes away pretty quickly. Even on cheap pbt blank sets, besides the texture of your keycaps and some shine, they look exactly the same as day one, which could be important to some people. I feel more comfident when using blank keycaps when I am forced to use azerty, though that might be an objectively subjective opinion.

Basketball players don't look at the ball when they play, they look around them. A server is not looking at the tray full of plates and cups of liquid when they are serving people, even a fastfood worker is not looking at the recipe when assembling your greeseball burger that you throw out of your car window anyway. So why should you, the "tech professional", look at the keyboard while doing IT stuff, why should you get that special treatment when you expect the opposite for other professions? Why should you get a pass to stare at your keyboard like you're defusing a bomb and you have to cut one of the keycap.. wires? Cut the W key because you are only losing this one.

I'd say that there is even a silent statement when you use blank keycaps: People see you as a true professional, or atleast someone who wants to become one. Your keyboard becomes your signature. And yet, it's just a set of lousy keycaps.

Or you could just keep your regular keycaps and get the benefits of learning the board with your current ones :3 Be smart and resourceful.
