True UNIX users/UNIX learners of any level seem to have similar ideas, they admire simplicity, functionality and elegance, not design, yet, that's a contradiction, because if you are those 3 things, your design skills are already superior to most people.

However, There are people that cosplay as UNIX users, that admire companies that don't understand UNIX properly and it's beauty, and that tried to reinvent UNIX, for example, macOS: when your bootloader requires XML, is it really respecting ANY part of the UNIX philosophy? Yet some of the macOS users like to talk about the UNIX philosophy, true UNIX users don't mention the philosophy, they try their best to actually do it. Talk is cheap, doing isn't as it requires effort, some thinking and sometimes some sacrifice.

A true UNIX (in philosophy) system lets you do whatever with your system, for free, with free documentation: man, apropos, sometimes a handbook. Yet, these cosplayers pay thousands of dollars for a jail made out of shiny materials, I mean come on, there's even the term 'jailbroken' for these devices, how could I take you seriously? You seriously pay for an OS that is a pita to handle any sort of libraries, do you seriously have to have 3 (unoffical) package managers, run ruby scripts to compile stuff like If you're running gentoo?

Quality? You call a shitty aluminium keyboard with the thinnest abs plastic keycaps that wear out in days quality? You call a thousand dollar laptop that can't handle three displays because it's an 'air' and not a 'pro' quality? Where certain devices running iOS 9 are basically bricked because they can not get past the setup because the services are fucked for them. Apple Pencils that only work on certain iPads where certain iPads would only work with certain Pencils? A good percentage of apple products since like 2014 have had some sort of a 'when' issue and not an 'if' issue and instead of fixing or trying to mitigate the issues, would wessel there way out of it so much that they got sued multiple times for it, is that quality?

Steve Jobs was smart in convincing and marketing, selling dreams to daydreamers, even his speeches were sometimes about marketing and not computing, I mean this guy was talking about marketing apple as a lifestyle and not technology in his speeches, I suggest you to watch some of his speeches. So unless if you are into IT and not marketing, why would you admire this guy? Why not admire someone like Ken Thompson, Dennie Ritchie, Bjarne Stroustrup, Kurk McKusick, Richard Stallman, Theo de Raadt, Eiiti Wada or basically anyone else in IT, some of the people mentioned don't even like UNIX.

If you don't know how to extract a tar file, stop the UNIX bar talk. IF you can't do basic piping, or do basic grepping/sedding/cli stuffs, (and don't feel like understanding/learning) don't talk about the UNIX philosophy, because I will not eat that up. With these reasons, if they even are reasons, is why I consider these users as UNIX user cosplayers and not actual UNIX users.

I don't know what this rant is about, whatever, this is what you should expect when it comes to quality from me.
